I first photographed this Sabre almost exactly 40 years earlier, when it was parked on the grass in camouflage and coded '146' outside Ljubljana-Brnik airport where it had been based. Alongside was the F-84G with which it now shares space in the Pivka museum. The peculiar IF-86D designation was apparently the result of a conversion for reconnaissance in the early 1960s. The restoration in silver colours was completed around 2016

Previously stored at Ljubljana airport, this former Yugoslav air force IF-86D went to Pivka in June 2016.

This Sabre was originally constructed as a F-86D and was one of 129 ex-USAF 'Sabre Dogs' that were bought by Yugoslavia in 1961. Around 1963 it was converted to an IF-86D and latterly it was stationed and then preserved at Ljubljana - Brnik in camouflage markings. It has been on since ~2015 display at the super Park Vojaške Zgodovine in this bare-metal scheme.

This Sabre was originally a fighter F-86D, but was converted to a reconnaissance IF-86D and its serial in the 14001 to 14130 range was then changed to14325. It is ex USAF. After it was withdrawn from use it was preserved at Ljubljana-Brnik where it was noted between Jun-1987 to Jun-2011. Next it went to the Park Vojaške Zgodovine (Park of Military History) in Pivka.
