Originally N8404 of American Airlines, seen after a lease from Buffalo Airways to Merpati Nusantara Airlines and about to go on further lease with AZAL Azerbaijan as 4K-401 (note very small registration marking). W/o on 30th October 1995 on arrival at Baku, crashing after losing power due to fuel starvation. Excessive fuel consumption had resulted from flying with the left main gear extended having failed to retract on departure from Urumqi

First visit at Ostend in April 1995 wearing the full Merpati Nusantara Airlines Cargo livery. Titles removed that month and operated for Azerbaijan Cargo Airlines as 4K-401 until it crashed 30Nov95 at Baku/Azerbaijan

Merpati ventured into the international cargo market for a short while, leasing this former American 707 in July 1994. Went to Azerbaijan Airlines as 4K-401. Crashed on approach to Baku in November 1995.

B707 still painted in full Buffalo Airways c/s, but with the logo of Azerbijan Airways on the nose. In 1995 the airplane got officially registered in Azerbijan, and soon after that crashed in the capital city Baku.
