Built by Focke-Wulf in Bremen in 1944, this aircraft, belonging to 16./JG 3 at Gütersloh, was shot down by P-47s at Pulheim near Cologne on 17 December 1944. The pilot, Lt Rolf Lahne, was probably killed, but no human remains were found when the wreck of his Fw 190A-8/R2 was unearthed. It has been restored using original and new Flugwerk parts, including a BMW 801S-1 engine belonging to a Fw 190A-9.
