Airworld operated three 727s between 1999 and 2003. ZS-OBN went to Safair in 2003 and Imperial Air Cargo in 2006. Broken up 2009

This 727 was originally delivered to Delta as N461DA in June 1973. In August 1984 it went to People Express (N520PE) and was later merged into Continental (N17789). After being phased out it was leased to Ryan International and then followed a series of leases to Asia Pacific and ownership changes. By August 2001 the plane was flying in Platinum Commercial Air Cargo Colours (operated by Pacific Airways). All good things come to an end and the plane was initially stored at Goodyear (GYR) from June 2002 but sometime around April 2004 ferried to OPF, registered N727PL and eventually scrapped.

Delivered new to Delta as N452DA 23rd Jan 1973 and to PeoplExpress as N511PE May 1984, then operated by Continental, Kitty Hawk Cargo and finally CAT. Withdrawn from use KROW (Roswell) June 2007 and scrapped

Same register used earlier with shorter version of 727.

This is the only time I saw this aircraft while it was on lease to Pacific Air Express.
