The base for this aircraft is a German Bf109, which identity is shown here. This Bf-109 was built in Erla, and shot down on 21 November 1944. The frame was recovered in November 1997 and after an extensive restoration, including the original DB 605A motor, is now airworthy with the Hangar 10 collection at Heringsdorf.

This Bf-109 was built in Erla, near Leipzig and delivered to JG300/14. On 21st November 1944 near Hannover it was shot down by fire from a B-17 with the loss of pilot Oberfähnrich Karl-Heinz Schirmacher. The frame was recovered in November 1997 and after an extensive restoration, including the original DB 605A motor, is now airworthy and a fine addition to the Hangar 10 collection at Heringsdorf.

Rebuilt using parts of various airframes. This one is not to be mixed up with the BF-109 in Wiener Neustadt, that is painted in exactly the same markings. This one has a different canopy and a black spinner.
