N28341 painted up for its role in the TV series Baa Baa Black Sheep. It was about a World War II Marine Corp F4U squadron and was set in the Solomon Islands. Filming was done in California.

This was an unexpected surprise and I was lucky to be allowed on the ramp to take it.

Registered to Sixto Diaz Salana Inc at the time. It was originally delivered to Delta Air Lines (as NC28341) in Jan 41. Later re-reg N28341. It passed through many hands and eventually returned to Delta Air lines in Feb 99. It is now preserved at the Delta Flight Museum at Atlanta Hartsfield-Jackson. The only other reg it wore, between Apr 83 and Feb 99, was N29PR.

Reregistered N29PR in 1985. Returned to N23841 in 1999 and painted in Delta markings. Was originally delivered to Delta in 1941

Correct registration is N29PR, but painted to represent NC2834.

"City of Atlanta" was delivered new to Delta in November 1940. It served them until sale to Mohawk in April 1953. From Delta 60 years ago.
