C6965 was used in May 1920 for a promotional tour of northern New South Wales and southern Queensland for Perdriau Rudder Co of Brisbane. The pilot was Lt W. Butler. Aerodromes were rare in Australia in 1920 and the BE2e flew from paddocks, racecourses and commons close to the towns visited. It served with Qantas until 1926 when its Certificate of Airworthiness expired. From its base in Longreach, C6986 undertook joy flights at many towns in western Queensland as the fledgling airline prepared to start regular services.
