Looking smart after a very lengthy repaint that began in 2011, XL319 was flown into retirement at Usworth in January 1983 after just over 21 years of service with 617, 44 and 83 Sqdns at Waddington and Scampton.

Currently undergoing a make-over at the North East Aircraft Museum, with most of the port side now having been re-painted in the camouflage scheme adopted in the mid 1960s, that of two-tone disruptive pattern to the upper surfaces with the white anti-flash undersides, when the shift was made to low level operations.

Prior to a renovation, completed in 2018.

Built at Woodford in 1961. Served 617, 230 OCU, 35 and 44 Squadrons. Flown into Sunderland on 21 January 1983.

The first ex RAF Vulcan to pass into civilian ownership, 319 was flown into Sunderland Airport in February 1982 to what is now an industrial site. At the North East Aircraft Museum.
