Delivered to Japan Air Lines as DC-8-61 JA8041 in 1970. To Overseas National Airways as N917R in 1981. Had recently been converted to a DC-8-71 when this photo was taken. To Pointair as F-GMFM in 1985, Kenya Airways as EI-BWG in 1988 and Zambia Airways as 9J-AFL in 1989. Sold as N811AL and converted to a DC-8-71(F) freighter for Emery Worldwide in 1995. Withdrawn from use at Roswell, NM in 2001. Still there in 2004. Scrapped.

This airliner was built for Japan Air Lines as a DC-8-61 in 1970 and was later converted to a -71 version. It was finally used as a freighter for Emery; in 2003 it was seen in storage at Roswell NM. - Seen here in service with ONA on very short final to runway 27 of Fürsty Air Base during a troop charter.
