Delivered new to Braathens SAFE as LN-SUB in August 1979. In 1990 to N73FS and registered to Citycorp Leasing but still operating for Braathens. Carnival Airlines was the next operator in 1993. In 1997 it went to TACA International as N235TA before being sold to Nationwide Airlines of South Africa in August 2004 as ZS-PIU. The aircraft was scrapped at Johannesburg in 2012.

During 1986 it was repainted to have the red and dark blue line under the windows, and a larger flag on tail. Sold and leased back as N73FS in 1990 as part of the new orders for 737-400s and -500s. On 19 November 1993 to Carnival Airlines as N73FS, later N235TA and ZS-PIU until broken up at Johannesburg 2012.
