Still in service with Aero Shell in 1997. Scrapped in 2011/2012. The nose was then used as a simulator by the Instituto Tecnológico Superior Aeronáutico at Shell-Mera.

Former US Air Force 42-23969, former Royal Canadian Air Force 655, and former civil registrations include CF-QJZ, C-FQJZ, and N8064A. Flew for Aero Shell in Ecuador as HC-BOT. Stored in Guayaquil for many years and was chopped up late 2010 / early 2011. Nose was preserved for some time in Guayaquil and then taken to Pastaza.

Abandoned between the hangars of Guayaquil airport. No registration noted on the airplane, but research at the time confirmed the identity as being the ex Aeroshell DC-3 HC-BOT. A few years later only the cockpit section was salvaged and saved as simulator by Shell and preserved at Rio Amazonas by Instituto Tecnologico Superior Aeronautico.

This ex-Aeroshell DC-3 was demolished in 2010/2011 at Guayaquil (SEGU) but the cockpit was transferred to Shell for a conversion to a simulator.
