A rare item because only two of these were used by the Marine Corps. When VMF-2 was formed in 1937 they used F3F-1's and F2F-1's while awaiting delivery of the new F3F-2's. This one was visiting NRAB Oakland in the summer of 1937.

Tito's air force operated some captured Bf 109Gs.

By late 1940 Yugoslavia had purchased about 80 Me-109 E-3s, which ironically were used during April 1941 in the defence of Belgrade when German forces invaded. After the war around 120 G models were obtained from Bulgaria, incorporating many local modifications. Three were even converted to two-seaters. All were retired by 1952
