Built as a SH-3A Sea King in 1963. Later converted to a HH-3A. HC-1 'Pacific Fleet Angels' To the US civil register as N51953 on 24 May 1996. Still current in Dec 2023 operated by Siller Helicopters Inc.

Delivered from Italy to Comox and handed over to the Air Force in October 2001. The Cormorant was heavily damaged Mar 10, 2022 during an SAR Training flight. While executing a hovering turn, the handling pilot's seat suddenly descended to its lowest position and the helicopter crashed at Gander International Airport. Five of the six crew on board received injuries, mostly minor.
