Summer detachment to SAMU 34

One of the highlights of the Paris Air Show 2025 is probably this brand-new Global Eye for the UAE Air Force. During the show, it was announced that the French Air Force will also purchase this aircraft for Airborne Early Warning & Control duties.

Photographed at the Coast Guard Air Station. The aircraft was retired to the MASDC, (as it was then styled), "Boneyard" at Tucson in July 1982 and sent to National Aircraft salvage yard in June 1996.

This HC-130B was airlifting in divers and diving equipment for use in the search for missing crewmen from the USCGC White Alder. On the night of 7 December 1968 the White Alder collided with a freighter on the Mississippi River just south of Baton Rouge. All but three of the crew were lost. I took this slide late in the afternoon on 8 December 1968 while the a/c was being unloaded.
