The ultimate in Lockheed Twin conversions - the Howard 500. Built in 1943 as a PV-1 Ventura USN serial 34765, but diverted to the RAF as FP613 and then the South African AF as 6427. Bought by Howard in 1961 and modified to H500 standard in 1963 with pressurised fuselage, higher powered engines etc. Destroyed in take-off crash at Toronto Ontario in July 1981.

Built in April 1943 as PV-1 for US Navy as 33260 but transferred to Canada as 2186, serving until August 1950, then stored. Returned to USA in 1955 for civilian use and converted to Super Ventura in 1957 as N9060.

This is the prototype Howard 500, which however was not converted to full Howard 500 standard. It received an experimental CofA as a Howard 400 in Sep 1959 as N100M, and was later called the Howard Pressurised Ventura.

This aircraft was preserved in Australia as VH-SFF/A59-67 of the RAAF Historic Flight until an accident in 1996
