Assigned to the the 17th Reconnaissance Wing stationed at Alconbury, UK. Built as TR-1A 80-1085 in 1986. Later converted to a U-2S. Stored at Beale AFB, CA in 2024.

One of three B-36s converted as director aircraft for the Bell GAM-63 Rascal air-to-surface missile. In 1955 replaced by DB-47 Stratojets which took the missile into operational service.
