The Stout Metal Airplane Division of Ford didn't want anything to do with the Ford Flivver light aircraft. William Stout left Ford in 1930 and, complaining about a lack of progress in aviation, designed the all-metal Skycar with a 75-hp pusher engine. The sole Skycar I was not a roadable aircraft. 1931-built roadable twin-boom pusher engined aircraft with single fin. Two-seat tandem cabin. Corrugated metal skin. This was the first of four slightly varying examples of the Skycar built up to 1940 and is the last survivor.
