Taxying in on Embraer 170 SP-LDA we passed this tantalising line of aircraft. UR-46249 is closest to the camera followed by another unmarked AN-24, then another, UR-46383, an An-12 UR-11346 and another AN-24 UR-46305

Carrying the titles Donbassaero, this aircraft sits on the ramp at Ivano-Frankivsk.

Of all the exotic aircraft at Manila, for me this was the best, but oh for some sun to light up that fabulous colour scheme! Three were in service then; another stored while one was written off at Caticlan in 1.09

Delivered to Cuba new in 1966 and seen wfu at HAV in 1997 in poor condition. The Cuban Antonovs were sometimes seen at Prague or Shannon on their way to or from Kiev for major overhaul

Taxiing noisily past the Soviet-style old terminal building, this An-24 was built in 10.70 and transferred to Air Kazakstan in 9.96. Stored engineless from 2003

First seen with Balkan in 1971 and leased to Palair for around a year in late 1991. Later stored at Sofia all-white and returned to Russia in 1994 but fate unknown

Rarely photographed in these eye-catching colours which almost made up for the lack of the forecast sun, I seem to recall that they'd put the titles on the other side of the tail in similar fashion but up-side-down! Despite having proper authority for ramp access, was soon chased away by unfriendly soldiers. Registered YR-ARB a few days later. Briefly with Acvila Air before this and no stranger to BBU from new in 1975 as Tarom's YR-BMG. Seen in Kiev during 2004 in an untitled purple livery as ER-AZH
