This is a replica containing original parts manufactured by the Cradle of Aviation Museum in New York. It represents the last Dutch aircraft in the Netherlands East Indies (now Indonesia) to oppose the Japanese invaders March 7th, 1942. It was presented to the Military Aviation Museum at the former air base of Soesterberg in 2009.

The only preserved Brewster Buffalo fighter in the world. Ltn. Lauri Pekuri was shot down in this Brewster over the Soviet territory during the Second World War on 25 June 1942. The wreckage was recovered from a lake in Russian Karelia in 1998. [Nikon D300 + Tokina 12-24mm/4]

The Buffalo was the main fighter of the Dutch East Indies Air Force during the Japanese invasion. This 1:1 model, for now still stored in the depot of the Militaire Luchtvaart Museum at Soesterberg AB, will be great addition to the museum!
