This aircraft is displayed outside MUPAS, an unusual art museum in the village.

This F-104 is a composite assembled from two former AMI Starfighters, MM6914 and MM6733 with the plane arriving at LIDH in July 2007. In May 2020 it was painted into this special scheme to commemorate the centenary of Arturo Ferrarin and Guido Masiero's 19,000 km Rome-to-Tokyo long distance flight. Only these two pilots of the initial eleven aircrews made it all the way from Italy to Japan, touching down within a hour of each other. Arturo Ferrarin was born in Thiene and as the first pilot to fly from Europe to Japan was also honoured as Altalia christened their second 747 after him in 1970.

This Starfighter was built in 1973 and last flew in 2004. It is now part of this super, small museum at Montagnana airfield.

This Starfighter is on display on a roundabout as one enters the town. It is reported as MM6717 but the correct identity is not known. The real MM6717 is preserved at Caserta.

Base Tuono is a fascinating Cold War relic - a preserved Nike air defence missile site high in the mountains near the Passo Coe. The museum has this beautiful Starfighter which has been repainted in the colours it wore when it was delivered to 50° Stormo at Piacenza in 1972 as a new F-104S. The aircraft got its own building and the museum intends to add an F-86K Sabre according to a 2020 report.
