After World War II, this Spitfire did gate guard duties at several RAF stations in the UK until sold in 1964 to the Air Museum Of Calgary, Canada. After six years of storage, a long restoration was begun, but the aircraft was moved back to the UK before it took to the air again in 1996. It joined the Flying Heritage Collection in 1999 registered N614VC. The aircraft is registered to Vulcan Warbirds, part of the Flying Heritage & Combat Armor Museum organization.

Full restoration was undertaken in the UK before it was transported to the museum. It is exhibited as a USAAF Spitfire from Operation Torch in North Africa in World War II. The serial used is MA863, which is the actual serial allocated to this aircraft by the RAF before it was shipped to Australia.
