RAAF aircraft damaged in a forced landing in Victoria on August 26, 1945. Restoration commenced in Australia in the 1980s. Project sold the USAF Museum in Ohio. Full restoration was undertaken in the UK before it was transported to the museum. It is exhibited as a USAAF Spitfire from Operation Torch in North Africa in World War II. The serial used is MA863, which is the actual serial allocated to this aircraft by the RAF before it was shipped to Australia.
