West German Air Force. Became XA-107 and then 54-09. Date is approximate.

The Pembroke C.1 aircraft based at Muharraq belonged to 152 Sqn 'B' Flight.

This is ex Luftwaffe 5424 painted to represent a RAF Pembroke.

I had a super time at the Hermeskeil museum. The sun was warm, the planes were super and the view of the countryside from the hill was impressive. Just to walk around and under these these old planes taking lots of detail shots made for a thoroughly worthwhile trip.

Displayed at Hermeskeil in fictitious Royal Air Force markings whereas in fact this aircraft served with the Luftwaffe as 54+24.

This P-66 has had an interesting history before arriving at the Aeronauticum museum at Nordholz. Originally delivered in 1958 as CA+021 to the pilot school in Memmingen but was soon thereafter withdrawn from service after an accident. Using parts from two other aircraft she was repaired and delivered to MFG 5 as SE515 (SE+515). After languishing somewhat after retirement she was rescued by the museum in 1994.

'Don't shoot'? No, 'schieben' means 'push'.

One of my favourite exhibits at this fine museum, nicely preserved in original colours (which is more than can be said for the other Pembroke in the collection, falsely painted in RAF colours although in fact another Luftwaffe C.Mk.54). One of 34 supplied to Germany for the Air Force and Navy, previously serialled XA+104 and served the FVSt at Lechfeld and later Neubiberg in the telecoms/check role
