Post war C-47D 45-1115 , converted to a VC-47D in 1950, was sold to Desert Air Parts in October 1972 registered N17777. Imported into Canada as C-GCZG in January 1975 by Ontario Central Airlines, the aircraft was a fixture in Winnipeg for almost twenty years. Withdrawn by Air Manitoba in May 1992, it was sold to Buffalo Airways in January 1994. Registered to Aviation Boreal in May 1995, it was damaged beyond repair landing on frozen Kenty Lake in Quebec when one ski hit a snowbank and collapsed the landing gear.

Named "Ancient Lady" on the tail. Officially quoted as cn 30386 ex HI-171, but that aircraft was destroyed near Daytona Beach, FL, while being airlifted to a museum on 2 Jun 1989. Instead, C-GTXW is believed to be cn 26946 ex HI-163.

World War II Veteran originally 42-96724, this Commando came to Canada in 1987 for Air Manitoba. It was written off while with Buffalo Airways during an emergency landing at Déline, NT. After shutting down one engine due to an oil leak, the aircraft was intentionally landed gear up and slid off the end of the runway.

First with Rousseau Aviation after being registered as G-AYIR by HS in 1970, this 748 ended its days in Canada with Wasaya. Burnt out when parked after arrival at Sandy Lake Airport, ON for a fuel drop off. Note the custom-fit hangar doors to keep the cold out in this 1988 record. When I shot C-FTTW in the same place two years earlier, it was still in ex-Air Botswana colours
