What happens when an oxygen bottle catches fire in a baggage locker. The fire occurred at Sydney airport where the Queen Air was based. The oxygen bottle was part of the medical equipment on the ambulance aircraft. The wings were removed and VH-AMB was trucked across Sydney to Hawker Pacific at Bankstown for repair. It would fly on to 1985 and is now preserved at the Powerhouse Museum in Sydney. It amassed 24,500 hours, flew more than 3,800,000 miles and carried 32,000 patients in its career.

VH-DYE was leased by the NSW Ambulance Transport Service ahead of introducing its own Beech Queen Air. In June 1973 the Baron was reregistered VH-DYB because the word "dye" was pronounced the same as "die", which alarmed superstitious flyers.

VH-AMD was damaged on the Pacific island of Palau in 1994 while being ferried to the Philippines.

Withdrawn from use in 1985. Now on display at the Powerhouse Museum, Sydney.
