On that day, the daily evening service between London and Groningen (via Amsterdam) didn't quite go as planned. The aircraft had flown the approach for runway 05, which is not uncommon when the wind is calm, but in this case the wind speeds were misjudged. Even at lower altitude, the tail wing was still quite strong, resulting in the aircraft touching down late and overrunning the runway. Thankfully no-one got hurt and damage to the aircraft was only minor. It missed some electricity pits and approach light structures; if it had hit those, the situation likely would've been much worse.
