Delivered new to SABENA as OO-SFK in April 1958. Operated by Spantax SA from May 1966 until August 1974.

The eighth production DC-9 delivered to Delta in September 1965. Operated by Spantax from February 1974 until February 1984.

The Coronado was the fastest jet airliner until the arrival of Concorde. Their engines were always filthy too with the plume of smoke making it easy to spot when they were on approach

Spantax DC-7C has just arrived from Palma on a regular inclusive tour flight and the pax steps are being towed into position by a vintage tractor.

Built as a passenger aircraft in October 1954 for Western Air Lines as N91310. Bought by Spantax in August 1965 and converted to a swingtail freighter in April 1968. Sold to Zantop in July 1975 as N434TA. The large hinges are visible on the rear fuselage.

Delivered to AA in 6.62 as N5618 and after a period with MEA, bought by Spantax in 1.72. Looking magnificent in her later colours on what was probably one of the last trips to the UK, this Coronado was eventually set aside at Palma for preservation by the excellent Museo del Aire, but has been under threat of eviction from its site which is on Air Force land. During 2017 major efforts were made by the Salvemos el Coronado de Spantax group to save this significant airframe
