Delivered to Adria in 1971, flew for Adria and Avioimpex from Macedonia until December 2001. Now parked at the maintenance area at Napels. Right in front of the old DC-9 you can see the scrapping of a G-222 in progress. Judging by the location, this should (have been) G-222VS MM62107 (4012).

Regular contributor to AirHistory Gerard Helmer and I do not know each other. Yet on this day we were obviously standing next to each other! As Gerard mentioned this aircraft was lost in an accident. If I may add a few more details, this was near Ohrid Airport on 20 November 1993. The flight was a scheduled service from Geneva to Skopje but had diverted to Ohrid due to the weather at Skopje. It hit high ground following a missed approach.

Unfortunately crashed a half year later in Macedonia.
