This L-39 was TOC byy the Czechoslovak AF in 1975 and decomissioned in 1992. It is now on display at the very interesting Letecké Muzeum Koněšín. Note there are/were two different L-39s that were given the serial '0448, the other served with the Czech Republic AF and has the cn 390448.
It's very heartening to see that this super old Hind has recently acquired a fresh coat of paint. It is very easy to criticise museums when some of their exhibits are looking somewhat shabby but as money and manpower are usually in extremely short supply they do the best that they can.
Delivered to Adria in 1971, flew for Adria and Avioimpex from Macedonia until December 2001. Now parked at the maintenance area at Napels. Right in front of the old DC-9 you can see the scrapping of a G-222 in progress. Judging by the location, this should (have been) G-222VS MM62107 (4012).
This Fagot is preserved just outside the small village of Jilem in South Bohemia. It was accepted into the Czechoslovak AF in April 1968 and flew with the 30th Fighter Bomber Air Regiment. It was decommissioned some time in 1982.
There were some eighty advance orders for the Propjet but it never made it into production. Only prototype aircraft and a few unfinished fuselages were produced and one of the latter has ended up at the Letecké Muzeum Koněšín (previously at Olomouc).
