This MiG-21UM with serial 256 served with the NVA in JG-2 'Juri Gargarin' before being allocated serial 2377 upon reunification of the two Germany's.

A former MiG-23BN, its East German serial 720 still applied, sits with the interesting collection of the Luftfahrtmuseum Finowfurt. The museum is housed on the former Soviet base at Finow.

The interesting museum at the former Soviet base in Finow has this former NVA Mi-8 in its collection. It is one of the first generation Mi-8 helicopters, delivered to East Germany in 1968. It was damaged beyond repair in an auto-rotation landing on 22 September 1972 and served as an instructional airframe with the NVA ever since. It arrived at Finow on 17 June 1993.

The small but interesting museum in Neuenkirchen has this An-2 in its collection. It is a former East German Air Force aircraft, which never received a new German serial after the reunification of the two Germany's in 1990.

Neunkirchen is a small town in northeastern Germany. It local museum has this former East German Air Force MiG-21MF on display in its original colours.

Taken on charge in November 1975, this Mi-8T was used by the East German Air Force for SAR-duties as can still be seen in this picture. Upon the German reunification, it was transferred and received a new serial 9314, but that is hardly visible on the helicoper today.

Delivered to the East German Air Force on 3 October 1964, served at Brandenburg-Briest until 1979 when it was relegated to ground instructional use. Moved to Gatow in 1996.

A weathered former NVA MiG-23MF can be found on outside display with the excellent museum in Gatow.

WSK-Mielec Fresco-C Jabo on display at the Luftwaffenmuseum. This aircraft served the LSK/LV from 1957 with JG 1 "Fritz Schmenkel" at Cottbus, with JG 8 at Marxwalde in 1963 and JBG 37 "Klement Gottwald" at Drewitz from 1972. Around 180 MiG-17Fs served the LSK till 1985. An SRD-1M radar rangefinder slaved to the target tracking radar and ASP-4N automatic optical gunsight is visible on the nose, as is a strut supported 57 mm MARS-2 rocket pod for S-5 rockets. The radio antenna mast by the starboard rear canopy frame and ESKR-46 flare dispenser on the front starboard fin are no longer fitted.

In 1994 the MiG-17 was transported from Eastern Germany to the Luftwaffemuseum collection at Uetersen. A year later the museum relocated to Berlin - Gatow, taking the MiG with them. Photographer unknown
