I first saw this aircraft in 1979 shortly after it was delivered and more than thirty years later it is still in use as and in the role for which it was built, carrying passengers. One of the last flying 100 series in the world and still looking superb

Rare record of what is now the oldest 747 still flying, as 5-8101 with the IRIAF. Line no 5 made her maiden flight on 5.12.69 as N93101, the first Jumbo for TWA. Converted to freighter 3.75, sold to the Iran AF and borrowed by Iran Air briefly in 1984 as EP-NHJ and in 1985 as seen here. Note refuelling bump on nose

Delivered to Iran Air in December 1994. Suffered a runway overrun at Stockholm Arlanda on January 16, 2010 and still there in late 2021.

Previously Pan Am's N445PA and seen here on a scheduled cargo run, this 707 was last noted in civilian service around 1990 but is probably among four Iran Air examples taken over by the Air Force, two of which were stored in ex IR colours
