The 110th Tactical Fighter Squadron deployed under Coronet Shield to Hopsten with twelve F-4Es. The deployment was held from 28 May and 11 Jun'88. This 407 was delivered to the USAF in Jun'70 and flew temporary with the Royal Australian Air Force as 07 in the early 70s. After return it was assigned to the 57th FWW, 110th TFS and rebuild to F-4G in the late 80s, early 90s. It served as a Wild Weasel the 3rd TFW and the 190th TFS before retirement to AMARC (as FP1010). In 1996 the G was rebuilt to QF-4G and eventually shot down on 6 November 1997 as an aerial target while assigned to 82nd ATRS

Originally, the unit was put into service as Jagdbombergeschwader 36 (JBG36) but they transitioned into a fighter squadron from 1991. After the decommissioning on 31 January 2002, the 2nd Staffel of JG72 continued until mid-2006 as the Fluglehrzentrum F-4F (FLZ, F-4F) or F-4F flight training center, the JG72 patch on the intake continued. This 3743 was in its last phase of scrapping at its homebase.

The Luftwaffe Jagdgeschwader 72 (JG72) "Westfalen" was stationed at Hopsten Air Base. Originally, the unit was put into service as Jagdbombergeschwader 36 (JBG36) but they transitioned into a fighter squadron from 1991. After the decommissioning on 31 January 2002, the 2nd Staffel of JG72 continued until mid-2006 as the Fluglehrzentrum F-4F (FLZ, F-4F) or F-4F flight training center, the JG72 patch on the intake continued. This 3735 received some special markings on its tail, referring to "Luftpost" (Airmail), a left-over from a deployment to Deci (Italy)
