A Tornado IDS pictured during its overshoot at Hopsten. The Tornado started its military career within the Marineflieger, the German Navy, see here. It made its first flight on 29 September 1982, was delivered to Marinefliegergeschwader 1 on 24 November 1982 and was transferred to the Luftwaffe (AG51) in the fall of 1994. After al long service life, the IDS was scrapped at Jever air base by September 2015.
