This is paradise! Taken from my hammock while enjoying an early morning coffee, seeing this DC-3 climb out between the trees of "los Llanos". Sadly one year later this DC-3 crashed while climbing out of Puerto Gaitán, Meta, Colombia.

Simply impressive !!

Having last shot this aircraft at Dundee in 1974, here she is far from Scotland having been sold by Loganair in 2.80. Went on to SAETA in the mid-80's then an outfit called Caribena (see upload) but ntu and remained derelict

Originally a United CV-340, this Convair served Esso and a number of other non-airline operators after turboprop conversion in 2.61. Bought by Avesca Colombia 4.91, to Serca in 12.91 and company renamed SEC Colombia in 1993. Aircraft destroyed at Caracas/Maiquetia

Just rolled out after respray in this superb livery, ex German AF 58+94 and D-IDNC. Five of the type were acquired

This colourful Dak, caught here during a short stopover, remains active in Colombia and later actually based at Villavicencio with Aerovanguardia as HK-3199. Derelict there in 2017. Note "Equipado con Radar" marking and mud on the wheels from landings at remote strips

The extraordinary sight of a Caravelle on short finals to the strip at Villavicencio. Even more extraordinary was the earthquake we experienced soon after it landed. Acquired by the dubious Global Colombia in 9.94, this classic (the former F-BJTU and OH-LSE) ended her days derelict at BOG in 1997, being scrapped some time after.

Ten years on from my previous shot of this Trislander and she remained at Villavicencio, albeit already pretty much abandoned by this time. Fortunately the dog didn't cause me any grief!
