The last UH-1D of the Heeresflieger was painted into this spectacular commemorative 'Goodbye Huey' scheme and has been on display at the Hubschraubermuseum since July 2021.

This helicopter was in reality previously 8022 with the Heeresflieger (German Army). It was allocated the registration D-HZYG but this was not taken up and, instead, is on inverted display from the ceiling of the Voliere new building extention. The real D-HTDM (cn S-140) is current with Red Bull in Salzburg (SZG).

The Helicopter Museum at Bückeburg is really superb, the staff are friendly and very much worth a visit. By necessity, the exhibits are very close together and it wasn't possible to get a satisfactory picture of this interesting frame. The number A01019 is stamped at the rear of the main cabin, although the cn given in the customs document from June 1980 is 05712 (subsequently adopted for the fake registration on the tail boom) but this does not fit into any known sequence. The helicopter was a gift by Aviaexport to the Hubschraubermuseum and has been preserved there since 1980.

First flown in 1975 as D-HDFG. Tested by the German army as 9824, then reverted to D-HDFG as an orange Bundesgrenzschutz rescue helicopter. Withdrawn in 1999. Seen here at the Sable-Platz outside the Helicopter Museum in Bückeburg, wearing the town's coat of arms. Presumably removed in 2009 to make room for the museum's expansion, and then donated to the town by Eurocopter. Stored at ETHB until put on a pole on Steinberger Strasse, Bückeburg, in April 2017, still in these colours.

No, it's not an Alouette but a rival German design, likewise powered by an Artouste turboshaft. Development was too slow, and the Alouette II won a fat German army order. This is the third and final SM-67, preserved in the Helicopter Museum, Bückeburg town.
