The helicopter was written off when it was caught in a down draft at high altitude. An attempt was made to turn away from a mountain, but there was insufficient power to prevent contact with the ground.

Here filling a water tank between flights, this DC-9 was delivered to Trans Texas Airways January 1968. In October the airline was renamed Texas International Airlines and this color scheme with the lone star on the tail was introduced. Merging with Continental in 1982, the aircraft flew on until sold in 1984. Flying in the USA as a freighter until 2002, the DC-9 went to Lineas Aereas Suramericanas as HK-4246X. It, unfortunately, crashed during an approach neat Mitu, Colombia December 18, 2003.
