A cold Sunday midday in November at Røros with temperatures well below minus 20 Celsius gives thick air and great conditions for the flying club.

The sea mist has just started to roll in at this isolated and little used Heliport for Lundy Island. The flying time table shows the service runs from November to March,with flights once or twice a week dependant on the weather. It is reached by driving down narrow country roads.

View of the control tower of the, now closed, Atahualpa Airport and converted into Ciudad Blanca Park. This airport was inaugurated in 1958, it consisted of an asphalt runway (20/02) with 1.935 meters. This airport served the city of Ibarra, Imbabura province. Tame and general aviation aircraft operated there, such as the Icaro Learn 2 Fly school aircraft and also some ultralight aircraft. On its last years of operation, it had military traffic. Finally, in 2011, the Atahualpa airport was closed and the new park was built. The control tower is still standing with the "Ecuador Loves Life" logo.

Aerial view of "Pista Pichincha" or "El Chasqui" landing strip located in Los Chillos valley in the southeastern part of Quito. These 4 hangars are home to a few experimental and ultralight aircraft. About 1 km away is "La Balbina" army base, home to various helicopters.

After the old airport shut down in February 2013, it became a park. Many of the hangars and a great part of the runway, taxiways and platforms were demolished. The old terminal, however was partially demolished and a convention center was built. What you see here is what's left of the old terminal: the metal structure built in 2003 for the renovation and the control towers.

The huge test center contains a little airstrip for small planes and a helo spot near the buildings was originally known as Pista di prova di Nardò della Fiat (Fiat's Nardò test track) when it was built in 1975. The high speed test track located at more than 23 kilometres (14 mi) north-west of the town of Nardò, Italy, in the Province of Lecce. The track was acquired by Porsche in 2012 from its former owners and is now named the Nardò Technical Center. The 4-lane round track is 12.5 kilometres (7.8 miles) long.

Due for closure 'in the foreseeable future', Stockholm's Bromma Airport is one of the last city centre airports. Even in 1999, Bromma's 1950s terminal was dated.
