Built as an SV-4C in France in 1947, this aircraft has been rebuilt to postwar Belgian air force SV-4B standard with enclosed cockpits. Some SV-4Bs have been converted the other way around!

The D.VIII was an advanced 1918 fighter. Seen with an Albatros D.V replica, OO-SMA, and a 1989 Fokker 50. Thanks for the apron tour.

Actually a former South African aircraft, this Harvard is painted as the Belgian air force's H210, which was assigned to the Belgian flying school at Kamina, Belgian Congo, called to arms during the 1960 uprising in the colony and shot down near Inkisi on 17 July 1960.

The JOB 15 is a rare Austrian aircraft type. This plane landed on Rwy 11 although Antwerp has a grass runway, designated 11L/29R, available for light aircraft.

The Stampe & Vertongen Museum's D.VIII replica impressed me at their 2018 Fly In. First flown 100 years earlier in May 1918, the Fokker E.V monoplane fighter was redesignated D.VIII following several crashes due to faulty wing construction at a piano factory. Actually the unbraced thick cantilever wing, which allegedly violated a Junkers patent, was strong and the small fighter fast, agile and effective in the final months of WWI. Formerly N111EV, this machine is painted as a captured D.VIII flown by the Belgian air force.

This Fury FB.10 (Sea Fury FB.10 according to some) is looking splendid in its original Iraqi markings. Formerly N54SF and VH-ISS, she arrived in Belgium in 2011 and had not yet flown here when I photographed her, following a lengthy restoration of its engine.
