Beautiful dusk light on this aircraft which is based in Ballarat doing joyrides. On static display at the Australian International Airshow.

Built to USAAC order as 41-33841 but completed as a Harvard Mk III for the RAF as EX868. Not delivered, but shipped to New Zealand, becoming NZ1061 in November 1943. Served with the RNZAF until 1978 when disposed of by tender. Acquired by an Australian, but registered ZK-ENH on 2 August 1978. Shipped to Sydney April 1979, then based at Broken Hill until 1988. Based at Walcha, NSW, since then.

Built to an RAF order and allocated the serial EX423, also USAAF serial 41-33396 for administrative purposes. Shipped directly to New Zealand in Feb '43 and became NZ1024. Sold 1 May '78 to Joe Drage for his museum at Wodonga, arriving Oct. Moved to new premises at Wangaratta Jan '85. Acquired from the Airworld collection '90 by Doug Hamilton for restoration at Albury and registered VH-XNZ 27 Feb '91. Seen here just airborne at the Antique Aeroplane Association of Australia's National Fly-in.

Built to an RAF order as 42-85230/EZ456 but diverted straight to the RNZAF as part of the Empire Air Training Scheme, becoming NZ1099 in November 1944. Disposed of in 1978 and registered ZK-ENK on 14 September that year. Exported to Australia and registered VH-NZX (get it?) on 28 November 2003. Currently resident at Jamestown, SA.

Built to a UK order as PS301 but delivered to the RNZAF in October 1972 as NZ6361. Retired in 1993. Purchased and shipped to Australia. Registered VH-ZEP 9 June 1995. Based at Parafield 1996-99, and based at Ballarat ever since doing Warbird Adventure Flights.

Imported to NZ in 1953 through British Aircraft Ltd for Auster Air Services of Timaru and registered ZK-BBY. In June 1958 it was involved in a landing accident and was withdrawn from use. It was re-built (probably with bits from other Austers) as ZK-BWH and registered to Aerotech of Timaru. Presently on display in the MOTAT Museum in Auckland with the fictitious RNZAF serial NZ1708.

VH-SNJ was registered in April 1980. It is ex RNZAF NZ1085, so the markings are authentic.

VH-PEM was registered in July 1980, ex ZK-ENH and before that NZ1061 with the Royal New Zealand Air Force.

ZK-CKH was registered in December 1964 and in 1985 adopted the markings worn by Beaver c/n 911 for Antarctic expeditions in the 1950s. That crashed in Antarctica in January 1960 and its remains never recovered.

ZK-TAF was an ex Royal Canadian Air Force aircraft sold into the US civil market in 1959. It came to New Zealand in 1985 for renowned warbird collector, Sir Tim Wallis. It has had several owners since and remained on the Kiwi register in September 2017.
