Holding on the taxiway to do a crew change whilst training after the recent arrival of the 787 into the fleet. First visit of a 787 to Scotland.

This plane was operating a convict flight and is pictured rolling out on rw08L. The frame was originally delivered to British Midland as G-OBMG in March 1989. It also flew with Travel Service as OK-TVR and Hola as EC-KBO. After its time with SkyKing it was registered LY-CGC and flew with Grand Cru, Ellinair and GetJet airlines before being wfu and stored at Vilnius (VNO) in September 2018.

Pictured touching down on rw08L after the flight across from Heathrow. This frame was delivered to BA in February 1997 and is still current with the airline.

This 1948 built Luscombe 8F has an interesting history. In 1953, when it was US owned as N18388, the owner flew it all the way from California to Berlin and back, via Greenland and Iceland, using a school atlas for navigation. This was the subject of an article in Flying magazine at the time which the current owner kindly let me see.

An ex 5 Sqn aircraft purchased by Arnold Glass in 1988, 458 never flew in civilian hands. Restored to ground running condition by Tony Hulls, she was purchased by Russell Carpenter in October 2001. Carries 92 Squadron markings on the port side and 111 Squadron markings on the starboard side.
