In January 1985, the Polar operations unit was HQ at US CGAS Mobile, AB. Photographed returning from a training flight. The first new HH-65 Dolphin helicopters being assembled by Aerospatiale Helicopter Corp in Grande Prairie, TX were also being flight tested at Mobile in January 1985. No. 1450 seems to be one of the first HH-52As retired since it was reported as loaned to the Pima Air Museum, AZ by the National Naval Aviation Museum in March 1986.

This Hughes OH-6A was operated by the Mississippi National Guard in January 1985 and seen at Gulfport / Biloxi - International Airport where the National Guard has an Aviation Classification Repair Activity Depot (AVCRAD) for servicing Army helicopters in the region. After retirement from the military, this OH-6A became N12UT with the Utah Department of Public Safety. It was destroyed in a fatal crash on July 30, 1994 in heavily wooded ridge line located at 8,850 feet MSL approximately 26 nautical miles west of Duchesne, Utah. The pilot was returning from a cancelled search mission.
