This Woodford-built York, operated by 59 Squadron RAF, overshot the 3300 ft Runway 28 on arrival from the Berlin Airlift for servicing by Fairey Aviation at Ringway. It was repaired by Avros and later became G-ANRC with Scottish Airlines.
