The BR.20 bomber was already fighting with the Aviazione Legionaria in the Spanish Civil War at this point. It was considered very modern, and exported to Japan, but the limited output of Italian engines meant that the trimotor Savoia-Marchetti SM.79 was eventually more succesful.
