Prototype Hendy Heck, designed by Basil Henderson to a specification written by Whitney Straight. C of A tests at Martlesham delayed as a result of damage incurred during a forced landing en route from Yeovil - in the course of which it collided with a cow! Flown by David Llewellyn and Jill Wyndham for Cape Record attempt Oct-Nov 1935 but dogged with issues including problems with the retractable undercarriage. Production version became the Parnall Heck 2C with fixed undercarriage. Scrapped 1937.

Aerovías Centrales was a short-lived Mexican Pan Am subsidiary. This photograph apparently shows its first international departure from Glendale. The aircraft lasted even shorter than the airline, crashing on 5 May 1934. Photo by: John Underwood / Glendale Public Library
