First flown in 1936 or 1937, the sole D-29 was built as a testbed for wing slats and split flaps. Fitted with T-tail to reduce downwash effects from these high-lift devices. Location not certain but this looks like a view from the north side of EDES.

This DC-8 was originally delivered to United as N8033U in October 1960. As N8033U it went on to fly with Bahamas World and Transports Aériens Centrafricain (STAC), before the latter re-registered the plane as TL-AHI in May 1979. It became 5A-DGK in November 1979 with United African and then with Jamahiriya Air Transport in June 1983. The plane was scrapped at Luxembourg (ELLX / LUX) in 1985 with the forward section becoming part of the Air Classic Collection on the spectator's terrace at Frankfurt airport. It has now found a nice home at EDES.
