The carrier rode at anchor at Gage Roads (Outer Harbour) during the visit as required for nuclear powered and/or armed aircraft carriers. The Prowler was withdrawn from use in 2005 and scrapped. The Ranger was decommissioned in 1993 and later scrapped.
