One of the first aircraft put into military service in Norway must have been this Farman MF-7 Longhorn, its huge wingspan can be appreciated in this shot. The aircraft is on display in the excellent Norsk Teknisk Museum in Oslo and is named after King Olav I, who reigned over Norway around the year 1000.

Seen in the Musee de l'Air, this aircraft first flew in 1911. Delivered to the miltary in October of that year it served throughout the First World War. It is in original condition and was acquired by the museum as long ago as 1919.
