Built for the Soviet Air Force in 1968. To Special Cargo Airlines as RA-11329 in 1992. To EL-ALF then D2-FBZ in 1999, 3C-QRD in 2001, EK-11011 by 2004 and ST-ARN in 2004. Destroyed in a fatal crash in Sudan in 2008.

Despite the fact that Sharjah is a very busy, largely cargo airport there is very little hangarage though the superb climate means that even major servicing can be carried out in the open as shown here. This aircraft was destroyed on June 27th, 2008 when it crashed near Malakal en route from Khartoum to Juba. Seven of the eight on board were killed.
