Built in 1968 for the Soviet AF and registered RA-11329 to Special Cargo Airlines in 1992. Briefly to EL-ALF in 1999 then D2-FBZ, 3C-QRD, EK-11011 and finally ST-ARN. W/o on 27th June 2008 on a flight from Khartoum to Juba after encountering a thunderstorm and was hit by lightning twice, crashing north of Malakal while operated by Juba Air Cargo

Despite the fact that Sharjah is a very busy, largely cargo airport there is very little hangarage though the superb climate means that even major servicing can be carried out in the open as shown here. This aircraft was destroyed on June 27th, 2008 when it crashed near Malakal en route from Khartoum to Juba. Seven of the eight on board were killed.
