Seen on approach to its homebase Zaragoza, is Spanish Air Force EF-18M Hornet C.15-15 with code 15-02. Ala 15's main mission is the defense and protection of Spanish airspace. In addition, it conducts air-to-air and air-to-ground combat operations, both in national and international missions, as seen here. The badge of this unit is a Tiger with the phrase "Quien ose paga" or Whoever dares pays in English.

In December 1982, Spain selected the F-18 Hornet to replace their F-4, F-5 and Mirages. In due course, 72 new Hornets were ordered: 60 single seat EF-18A and 12 dual seat EF-18B. In the mid 1990's, 24 ex US Navy F-18A/B's were sold to Spain.

During our visit the flightline was packed with Hornets.
