This US designated C-27A was deliverdf to the USAF on 25 January 1993. It served the 310th AS / 24th WG at Howard AFB (Panama). The G222 was retired to 309th AMARG on 14 July 1997 and was first stored with the inventory code AACC001 and later AXCC0001. It was allocated N2286Y on 3 November 1999. The G222 left AMARG on 9 July 2014 for the Aircraft Restoration and marketing (ARM), Tucson (AZ) and then to the Russell Military Museum, Zion (IL).

With the benefit of hindsight and familiarity with the ultra-modern, high-tech props available today, doesn't that old three blader look terribly inefficient?
